2021 Chardonnay
Vintage Notes
The 2021 vintage in the Willamette Valley was warm and generous. There wasn’t any rush to pick due to any weather events or the catastrophic smoke that we endured in 2020. We did make it through the heat dome in late June where we saw temperatures reaching 115 degrees for three days. Unlike in Wahington where crop levels were severely impacted by the extreme heat, here in the Willamette Valley it may have helped mitigate any mildew pressure and reduced berry size. The 2021 Chardonnay has an innate fullness and sweetness to the palate curtesy of the warm vintage with the characteristic lemon curd/citrus profile of the Chehalem Mountains AVA.
